As we usually do at this time of the year, we’re encouraging our members to donate to Mobile Refugee Support (MRS). They do incredible work, as one of the only organisations in Dunkirk regularly distributing essential items to ensure that people are not forced to sleep rough in the woods or under bridges. They also provide firewood, communication support and first-aid response, and distribute bespoke food packs.
There are currently close to 800 displaced people stranded on the northern coast of France, close to Dunkirk. MRS is in dire need of specific items such as tents, tarpaulins, thermal sleeping bags and warm, waterproof clothing. Police interventions and clearances have continued to increase, putting huge pressure on their stock of essential supplies.
All donations go directly to MRS on the frontline and are used to both sustain their projects and bulk-purchase the most important items. £10 can purchase a 2-man tent and £5 can purchase a thermal sleeping bag.
