Non-native English speakers who want to improve their English, make friends and discuss interesting topics are welcome to join our in-person club or our online club. The clubs are free, friendly and relaxed.

In person 

We meet every Wednesday from 10am to noon in Penrith Library to have English conversation and meet new people. There are usually several native English speakers at the meeting so that you can speak and share your ideas in small groups before sharing them with everyone and you get to hear different accents.

We share stories, have discussions, play games and music, and get to know each other. We also have social events, such as walks around Penrith and activities for children. Contact Claudi at penrithwelcomesdiversity@gmail.com to join.  

Online

We also run a weekly online conversation club (for intermediate/ advanced), for people living anywhere in the north east or north west. We meet on Monday mornings.  Contact Emma on 07989 972765 to join.

You don’t have to attend every week, just come when you can.
