Here we share the stories of some of the people who are part of the PERN family. Some of them are from people who have moved to Penrith and Eden from overseas and tell us about their often hazardous journeys to the UK, the reasons they left their countries, and about settling into new lives here. There are also stories from people who have spent a short time visiting us from other parts of the UK, some on the Penrith Experience and others who have joined in PERN activities such as online English conversation. Finally, there are stories from people who welcome refugees to Penrith, and who campaign for a fairer, more compassionate approach to asylum.
