Volunteer English Teachers Needed

PERN English has provided volunteer led English classes for people seeking asylum in Carlisle for over two years. English classes are happy times for everyone involved with diligent students and all the joys of teaching (and no Ofsted!).

We are now looking for three more volunteer English teachers for our classes on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. We would also welcome more assistant teachers. Classes are up to 15 students and we aim to have two teachers per class to accommodate volunteers having other commitments as well.

We can usually provide a car share from Penrith.

We have experienced ESOL teachers in the team who support others to convert their skills. Primary teachers make good beginner teachers and English or foreign language teachers easily adjust. All are welcome to find out more whatever your experience.
