PERN is a charity, but we don’t ‘do charity’ to people – we support them in ways that respect their agency and empower them to take control of their own lives. That is why PERN Legal and Info began – to help people get their Refugee status so they can build a new life for themselves, as without Refugee status your life is very restricted.
The photo above shows the PERN Legal and Info staff and volunteer team at the NACCOM Network national conference. We were delighted to have staff members James Adamson and Gamal Hawam among the speakers for the workshop ‘The Justice Gap: Expanding access to immigration advice.’
We are proud to stand in solidarity with local people seeking asylum, giving people a chance and preventing destitution and statelessness in our community.
