Family Reunion Suspension

PERN is aware of the Home Secretary’s decision (1st September 2025) to suspend Refugee Family Reunion applications. This is a sad and wrong decision, closing one of very few safe and legal routes for refugees to come to the United Kingdom, and keeping refugee families separated. This will be devastating news for many. We will be writing to local MPs to seek clarification and urgently call for the reversal of this decision.

The Home Secretary has only stated that the suspension applies to new applications. Any applications already submitted and under consideration should not be impacted by this policy change. We are contacting our clients currently engaged in Family Reunion applications, but we urge anyone with queries to please get in touch.
