Anti Racism Community Educator – Applications Open

Can you use your skills to advance justice and kindness?

 

Penrith and Eden Refugee Network (PERN) are recruiting a freelance Community Educator to increase awareness and knowledge in the Penrith and Eden community about what it takes to be Anti Racist, as well as the root causes of racism.

 

Our freelance Anti Racism Community Educator will work flexibly for 6 hours a week for 24 weeks. The key tasks of this role are:

 

  • To reach out to the community to promote Anti Racism and generate interest in Anti Racist learning events
  • To organise the schedule of Anti Racist learning events, as well as communications around these
  • To influence local leaders of statutory organisations and businesses to adopt an ‘anti racist journey’ for their organisation and help link them to Anti Racist Cumbria.
  • To facilitate the Anti Racist learning events
  • To evaluate the impact of the project and recommend next steps
  • To write and comment in the media (both PERN’s own media and external)
