Great Get Together
PERN members had a lot of fun in Penrith’s lovely Castle Park at our Great Get Together Picnic on Sunday 1st September. These picnics happen throughout the UK to celebrate unity and diversity and here in Penrith we celebrated with races, football, badminton and crickets for all ages along with a bring and share feast.
Penrith Welcomes Diversity and PERN is there for the voice of people of black, brown and minoritised ethnic or migrant backgrounds. Local people with connections to more than 10 nationalities celebrated that we have more in common than anything that can divide us. PERN promotes mutual understanding and respect within our community and celebrates that communities are stronger and healthier where everyone has a sense of identity and belonging.
